He has acquired more than 50 commercial properties comprising approximately five million square feet in New York City and Los Angeles. His real estate specialty has been the acquisition and development of existing undervalued properties and the subsequent upgrading and creation of value in these properties.
Mr. Meringoff is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the New York Landmarks Conservancy and the Guild Hall of East Hampton, NY, the Board of Governors of the Real Estate Board of NY (REBNY) and has previously served as a member of both the Midtown South Preservation and Development Committee and the Park Avenue South Association. He is a member of the Association for a Better New York, the Real Estate Council of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and has been a member of the Urban Land Institute for over 40 years.
His philanthropic activity is focused primarily in support of public education initiatives in New York City through the Meringoff Family Foundation. Mr. Meringoff currently serves on a number of charitable Boards including the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, as well as being a member of the Leadership Council of the New York Stem Cell Foundation. He has previously served as a member of the Reading Team in Harlem, the Boards of the Brearley School and the City of Hope National Medical Center, and received the Public School Champion award for outstanding commitment to public education in New York City from Pencil Inc. where he also served as a member of the Board.
Mr. Meringoff holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.
